April 2000
We launched our first official Sunday worship service at the Chinese Cultural Centre Of Greater Toronto in Scarborough. Seven seniors attended.
May 2001
Malvern Chinese Free Methodist Church, renamed Free Methodist Church in Canada, collaborated with settlement and healthcare agencies to support new immigrants, establishing senior, adult, and children's ministries.
April 2011
In 2013, the church purchased a commercial property in Markham and successfully rezoned it to a place of worship, changing its name to Markham Free Methodist Church.
April 2012
In 2012, the church established its Children's Ministry on 7 acres, focusing on summer camp, club, band, and arts & crafts activities, forming its core.
May 2012
Markham Wesley Centre, built in 2012, expanded the Kingdom of God and served communities, now serving over 3,500 registered members and 300 daily participants, on 7 acres of land.
August 2018
The church expanded, accommodating up to 750 worshippers in the worship hall and 160 in the chapel, transitioning to a non-denominational church and changing its name to Markham Peoples Community Church.
